Do anyone know the software which can test MODBUS/TCP master/slave? I want the software which operates on WindowsXP and can be used easily. Although I like the free software, if cheep, I will be going to buy it.

Thank you.

Hi Tai,

For testing purposes you can use our Modbus Ethernet OPC Server which supports both slave and master mode. It runs in demo form for 2 hours at a time.

Go to web site and download free demo copy of the Simple Modbus TCP/IP Logger software. You do not have to have site access to do this. The demo will read data from a target device.

Also, check out web site

Do an Internet search for Modbus TCP OPC server. The easiest way for testing would probably be an OPC server.

Most of the links below have demo versions for testing:

Our Modsak and ModSlaveSim programs can be used to test Modbus/TCP on Windows XP. They are inexpensive, and can be evaluated free of charge. Download them from:

Have a look at for Modbus Master and Slave ActiveX Controls. Pre-built example applications are available that will facilitate your testing. Fully functioning evaluation versions are available for download.
