Has anyone had any experience with Wonderware’s new Modbus DASMBSerial driver? I tried to use it with a ControlMicroSystems SCADAPack with no success. Looking at the master packets with a data monitor it appears there are large gaps in the packet between the majority of the packet and the CRC. These gaps exceed the maximum of 3.5 character lengths indicating an end of packet. The slave device sees this as noise.

I ended up using one of Wonderware’s legacy drivers. I have called Wonderware technical support for help but that has not gone anywhere. I can’t see how this new driver can ever work with anything that meets Modbus spec?

We have similar issues with other PLCs. The DASMBSerial does not work with modbus serial interfaces on 584/984 PLCs but the Wonderware legacy driver will.

Have had no luck otherwise.

 

I cannot even find the serial server.. where do you download it? Also, if it does not work then, where can I get a legacy server? All I have is an 8.0 server and that will not work with Wonderware 2014 r2
