I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between Modbus Ethernet and Modbus TCP. Any comments and/or links would be helpful.

Modbus Ethernet generally refers to a Modbus RTU or ASCII ADU packet embedded in an Ethernet packet. Port is not defined.

Modbus/TCP refers to a Modbus RTU PDU packet with a Modbus/TCP header for use over TCP/IP on port 502 (standard).
