Moxa and Adam

Hello,

I want to connect 2 AI and 1 DIO module (ADAM4017p,4055) to Citect SCADA v7 via ethernet. I use rs485/ethernet (Modbus/TCP) convertor (MOXA6110). I can see my modules from Modbus scan software but I can't see them in Citect. My setting is: Modnet protocol, -I192.168.127.2 -P502 -T. The hardware alarm is that device off line. I don't know which setting may be wrong.

With thanks...

You might consider two things:

First, you might consider obtaining Advantech (they make the Adam modules)
Modbus/TCP converters to replace the Moxa units. This is NOT to suggest
there's anything wrong with the Moxa units-- there probably is not. But then
you have only two people to discuss this with, instead of three.

Second, you should contact Advantech directly-- they have global help
available from www.advantech.com.

Third, you should contact Citect directly-- or through your Schneider
dealer-- whichever provided you the software.

Almost certainly you have a setting or parameter set wrong either in the
Moxa unit or in the Citect setup. Since you can see the Adam modules in a
Modbus scan, my money is on the Citect setup.

If that's the case, calling Citect help directly is probably the fastest way
to get help.

Advantech also has Ethernet versions of their RS-485 devices (6000 series versus 4000 series). The Ethernet version support Modbus/TCP directly. I agree with Mr. Boyes though that this sounds like a Citect problem.
