I'm working with a Modbus communication between a PC and a PLC.

I've monitored the COM port and discovered that a Modbus function 126 (7E Hex) is used. But what does this function code mean and what answer could you expect on this Modbus function?

Since function code 126 (0x7E) is not a specified standard function code, it's probably a vendor-specific function code. You'd therefore have to find out what its intent is from the vendor.
