Acromag offers C-Library Source code and demo program for Modbus TCP/IP or UDP/IP. Go to http://www.acromag.com and search on Model ESW-MBLIB. These C-libraries compile in MS Visual C, Linux, VxWorks, QNX and OS9.
Note, it's not quite used for RS485 but it might get you close. Modbus TCP/IP is basically Modbus RTU with a TCP/IP wrapper.
