Hello!
I want create connection MVI56-MCM - Kepserver - WinCC. Did somebody make it? Is it possible? As far as I know connection Kepserver - WinCC is possible. My main question about MVI56-MCM - Kepserver. Because I didn't find drivers for MVI56-MCM in Kepserver. Maybe enough only driver for modbus? I don't know.

The MV156-MCM does modbus so you would use the Modbus Suite from Kepware to talk to it.

The problem is that from technical support from prosoft I received answer:

"You could create an OPC connection but not directly with the MVI56-MCM module. You have to use the controller tags of the ControlLogix processor, to create topics in RSLinx that will act as an OPC Client and to connect RSLinx on Kepserver (your OPC Server).

You may need specific version of RSLinx that supports OPC connections."

As far as I understand I can't connection to the MVI56-MCM? Is it true or not. On computer we have PCI card with RS485 modbus rtu. I think we can connection with 3 wire cable DB9-RJ45 to the MVI and receive data from it. Am I right?

The module would be setup as a Modbus Slave to the Kepware running the modbus master driver. The information you were given was for making a connection to the Control Logix processor using Kepware.

So the tech support person must have misunderstood your application. The MVI56-MCM module is a Modbus Master/Slave module, so using the Modbus driver for Kepware will allow you to make a connection to the module.

Please let us know if there are any questions.
