I am using a Modbus M340 PLC, 2 Modbus STB distributed I/O with NIP2311 comms, as well as Altivar VSD drives with VW3A3310D comms card and would like to implement MRP redundancy protocol using a single Connexium managed switch. The PLC has a NOC0401 Ethernet module. Is it possible to have a single Connexium managed switch and daisy-chain the distributed I/O, NOC0401 module and VSD drives in one large loop, then running the switch with MRP protocol? If MRP is not a possibility, how about RSTP? or is my whole concept flawed from the start?
