Which software I can use to program the S7-200 PLC and please give the dtail of all accessories and interface device to connect my laptop with PLC processor.

Hi,

Well, Step7 MicroWin from siemens is used to program s7-200 if thats what you are asking.
And you will need a PPI adapter for connection.

To program the Siemens S7-200, you need Siemens MicroWin programming software. This is not the same software as used to program the S7-300/400 series.

For the programming interface device, there are several different ones. As to which is the best one, that depends upon several factors including what sort of computer you have and what other Siemens hardware you may currently have or may possibly use in future.

Contact your local Siemens dealer for more information. They should be able to give you prices and options.

hi,

you can use Step7-micro/win for programming a s7-200 plc(see simatic industial software catalog)
but for communication you have to buy a PC/PPI- adaptor from siemens(serial or USB) for serial siemens orderno: 6ES7 901-3BF20-0XA0 (if you have to buy all of that it's better you look for another PLC-manufacturer with free software and a serial interface).

Simatic Step7 programming software which needs u to purchase license key. Also needs PC adapter which connects your PC comport to MPI port on the S7-200 CPU.

You can get it from your local Siemens PLC dealer. It is not real pricey. It is called Microwin I think.

You will need some kind of adapter also available from your local Siemens PLC dealer. I suggest the USB to PPI adapter.

check the siemens website of siemens to get these details...They should have all the details you are looking for. For manuals etc, try this site: http://www.ad.siemens.com/supporte

Anyways, you require 1. Microwin from Siemens, and 2. USB/PPI interface cable.

But, try their website, and read up some documentation from Siemens. It usually has all such details!

Hi,
No, it must be Step7-Micro/Win.
No licence key is needed, the software does not use dongles or token discs or other crippling techniques. in fact you can use the time limited version for free for 100 times or 60 days (approximately the time between windows
re-installs ;)

There are lots of options for connecting, most posts have mentioned the PC-PPI cables with Serial or USB connectivity, some, not all can connect as MPI, you need to read the fine manuals available on the Siemens website.
I like to use wireless Ethernet, It means I can sit in a warm canteen during commissioning :)

For this you could get an isolation transformer large enough to supply your test equipment and simply ground one side of the secondary and call it the neutral. Isolation transformers are sold for standard voltages and by the VA required. It overcomes a lot of regulatory problems if you can mount it inside the equipment rather than supplying outlets in which case many jurisdictions have problems with multiple neutral to ground connections. It's fine most places if you isolate inside a cabinet and earth ground the cabinet. Before you get too excited, you might want to use a scope to see just what the difference voltage spectrum is. I've seen a merry chase to find power leakage and ground potential differences that turned out to be fluorescent lighting hash and noise with no real power available, that is, the power frequency component was very low and quite acceptable and the rest was killed with a $10 line filter.

I have PLC ladder program made in Siemens STEP-5 PLC. Can I use it in STEP 7 MICRO/WIN 32? This means, can we importe the STEP-5 Ladder program to STEP-7 MICRO/WIN 32?
