Help Please!

I can make a program with my STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 but if I try to open a project I get this error "Specified acces point not found". Does someone know what to do? Thanks...!

Hi,
Step7-MicroWin 32 is an old version of the s7-200 programming package,
if you don't really need it you should upgrade to V4.

(demo version http://www.automation.siemens.com/_en/s7-200/support/tools_downloads/microwin.html
100 uses or 60 days)

I've never seen this error, but I'm guessing at comms problems. Check that your com port is available (under windows, some other software may have locked it) and that it is configured correctly in the set PG/PC interface section. If you are using a PC/PPI converter, check that this is correctly configured.

Failing that, re-install OS and applications, that usually fixes windows problems. If your still not working, post again with more information, OS, hardware and precise nature of problem.

Hi,

My notebook doesn't have a serial port so I use USB-Serial cable. But Step 7 Micro Win still does not recognise the connection. Should I need a Siemens USB/PPI cable to connect?

I have tried using MicroWin with a USB to RS232 adapter. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I ended up buying a PCMCIA to RS232 adapter. It always works, as does the USB PPI cable.

I frequently get this error (because I keep forgetting to not do things incorrectly). For some reason it just doesn't like to open projects directly. Just open up the program from the start menu location or whatever shortcut, then open your project from the open menu. Hope that helps.
